The purpose of the school is to prepare camera operators by providing theoretical and practical training. Those who complete the school can work in the field of company and production films, documentation, covering family celebrations, cable TVs, etc.
The participants complete the course with a diploma project “Observation” or a short joint acting etude. The etudes are produced in cooperation with the parallel school of directing and with the assistance of the Training Studio. The course participants shoot the joint acting etudes in the shooting pavilion of the Film Faculty under the guidance of a teacher in cinematography. Every course participant is given three academic hours to do the shooting.

School of CINEMATOGRAPHY AND WORK WITH VIDEO EQUIPMENT. The course offers training in the basics of cinematography and editing for acquiring the qualification for work with digital motion-picture cameras. The program includes lectures and exercises on the different aspects of camera operator’s work like light in the work of the camera operator, genres in the work of the camera operator, TV cinematography, introduction in directing. The course ends with the production of a film by every participant.

This year again the most prestigious Bulgarian higher school of theatre and film art – the NATIONAL ACADEMY OF THEATER AND FILM ART “Krastyo Sarafov” organized qualification courses in CINEMATOGRAPHY AND WORK WITH VIDEO EQUIPMENT. This form of training is suitable for amateurs, candidate students and art professionals. Heads of the schools are professors from NATFA. The fee is BGN 800, payable in two instalments (of BGN 400 each at the start of each semester). Training is organized in 150 academic hours (160 for the drama acting school) spread over two semesters from October till May. Classes are held twice a week from 06.00 till 08.30 pm.
