Education:
High school: 66th Secondary Polytechnic School, Sofia (1971)
Higher education: Higher Institute of Theatre Arts (1974 – 1978)

Artistic life:

1978 – 1981 – Upon graduation of the Higher Institute of Theatre Arts, Prof. Lungov was formally transferred to town of Plovdiv and appointed as an actor at the People’s Puppet Theatre;
In 1981 Prof. Lungov became an actor at the Central Puppet Theatre in Sofia;
Since 1981 Prof. Lungov has been and keeps on working at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts; he started as a part-time assistant professor in Dimitar Stoyanov’s class, specialty Acting Mastery for Puppet Theatre;
Since 1983, after a successfully passed competition, Prof. Lungov has been appointed as a full-time Assistant Professor and subsequently was promoted to the tenured positions Senior Assistant Professor and Head Assistant Professor.
In 1991 he was given the title Associated Professor in Acting Mastery for Puppet Theatre.
In 1998 he became a professor in Acting Mastery for Puppet Theatre.
Since 1989 Prof. Lungov has been a leading art supervisor in acting mastery for puppet theatre to many theatre classes.

State Puppet Theatre – town of Pazardzhik (1985 – 1990)
State Puppet Theatre – town of Rousse (1986 – 1987)
Puppet Theatre – town of Pleven (1997)

Prof. Lungov founded and managed Theatre 13 (until 1996), which under his leadership accomplished tours and participations in international theatre festivals.

Prof. Lungov is the founder and director of Albena Theatre (from 1996), which realises tours and participations in many international theatre festivals and has been developing the cultural programme of the coastline resort Albena from 1996 to 2007.

International directing and educational experience:
Theatre productions in Poland, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (Macedonia) and Greece

Since 1994 Prof. Lungov has been conducting courses and seminars in Acting Mastery for Puppet Theatre in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (Macedonia); he has promoted the development of the puppet theatre in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia putting on stage a theatre performance every year; he also held three seminars in Athens and the Isle of Crete, Greece.

In 2000, Prof. Lungov was elected in charge for all art programmes and exposition of the Bulgarian Pavilion at the EXPO 2000 in Hanover, Germany.

In 2008, Prof. Lungov was elected in charge for the cultural programmes and presentation of the Bulgarian Pavilion at the EXPO 2008 in Zaragoza, Spain.
