For BA and MA candidates
For the students who have citizenship from countries outside the European Union:
An obligatory condition for application is a good level of proficiency of the Bulgarian language.
There are two options:
1.1 Learn the language yourself and come up with a certificate that you have passed В2 level (as a minimum).
1.2 To come for a preparatory year at NATFA – here you would study Bulgarian for more than 900 hours. In case you pass successfully the final test, you could try to take the entry exams.
1.3 Go directly for the admission process /you need to pay fee for the exam/. Bank details for the transfer are:

The payment order must specify:
The reason for the bank transfer: the fee and the name of the BA/MA for which you are applying (the respective name may be in an abbreviation).
Obligatory person: Name, surname, surname of the candidate-student, PIN.
Ordering: Name, surname, surname of the orderer.
If you agree to pass through all these, you should prepare your application till the end of May.
Obligatory documents, accompanying the application form, for BA degree:
- Copy of the High School Education Certificate, together with its Appendix (where respective subjects are listed with the marks and the respective horarium for each of them). The Diploma has to be legalized with an “apostil” (a special rectangular stamp of the relevant country), translated in Bulgarian language and certified by a local authority and the Bulgarian Consulate in the country of origin.
- A Document, issued by a local authority, certifying that you can apply for higher education in the country of origin. The document has to be legalized with an apostil (a special rectangular stamp of the relevant country), translated in Bulgarian language and certified by a local authority and the Bulgarian Consulate in the country of origin.
- CV (may be presented in English).
- Statement of Purpose – a short essay, stating why the applicant has chosen to apply for the respective programme/course at NATFA (may be presented in English).
- Medical Certificate – issued by local medical authorities, no later than 1 month prior to application, legalized, translated in Bulgarian and certified by a local authority and the Bulgarian Consulate in the country of origin.
- Four passport-sized photos.
- Photocopy of the passport.
Obligatory documents, accompanying the application form, for MA degree and short courses:
- Copy of High School Education Certificate, together with its Appendix (where respective subjects are listed with the marks and the respective horarium for each of them). The Certificate has to be legalized with an “apostil” (a special rectangular stamp of the relevant country), translated in Bulgarian and certified by the local authorities and the Bulgarian Consulate in the country of origin.
- Copy of the Bachelor Diploma, together with its Appendix (where respective subjects are listed with the marks and the respective horarium for each of them), which has to be legalized with an “apostil” (a special rectangular stamp of the relevant country), translated in Bulgarian and certified by the local authorities and the Bulgarian Consulate in the country of origin.
- CV (may be presented in English).

1.4 You have passed your exams successfully – CONGRATULATIONS! – JUST A FEW STEPS ARE LEFT AND YOU WLILL BE OUR STUDENT!
1.5 If your documents were accepted by the Ministry of Education or Republic of Bulgariua, you will receive from us their permission to issue a visa. You could receive such permission even for the preparatory year at NATFA when you would study only Bulgarian language.

IN CASE YOU HAVE STUDIED AT AN ACADEMY, OR A UNIVERSITY WITH THE SAME FOCUS AS NATFА, and you wish to continue studying with us:
Obligatory documents for students’ transfer:
- Copy of High School Education Certificate together with its appendix (where respective subjects are listed with the marks and the respective horarium for each of them).. The Certificate has to be legalized with an “apostil” (a special rectangular stamp of the relevant country), translated in Bulgarian and certified by the local authorities and the Bulgarian Consulate in the country of origin.
- Academic transcript issued by the Higher Educational Institution where the applicant has studied (translated in Bulgarian language).
CV (may be presented in English). - Statement of Purpose – a short essay, stating why the applicant has chosen to apply for the respective programme/course at NATFA (may be presented in English).
- Medical Certificate – issued by local medical authorities, no later than 1 month prior to application, legalized, translated in Bulgarian and certified by a local authority and the Bulgarian Consulate in the country of origin.
