Vacancy compliance manager FilmEU

FilmEU Association vzw was established to support the FilmEU European University in delivering impactful research and education in Film and Media Arts, focusing on societal development for the future.

The association strengthens the participating Higher Education Institutions as leaders in joint education, research, and innovation within the cultural and creative sectors both in Europe and globally. It focuses on empowerment, co-creation, and outreach. It represents the alliance at all levels, enhancing international visibility, increasing the ability to compete globally, and expanding opportunities for knowledge exchange.

Based in Belgium, it benefits from proximity to the EU, offering flexibility, openness, and compliance with all partners’ needs. The VZW model provides a non-profit, cost-effective structure for managing joint activities and reducing operational costs through centralised administration.

Role Context

The Delivery & Compliance Lead is a critical role for the alliance, and we are seeking someone to take on a role for overseeing the effective coordination, monitoring and governance of the FilmEU alliance’s programme of activity.

This role ensures that agreed milestones, outputs and deliverables are achieved on time and to the required standard across all partners. The postholder will not deliver project activities directly but will provide structured oversight, accountability mechanisms, and reporting coordination.

The role also leads the preparation of final programme reports and facilitates the development of future funding bids.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee programme delivery, tracking milestones, partner deliverables, risks and dependencies against agreed plans and KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with funding, contractual and reporting requirements, and maintain audit-ready records of outputs and impact evidence.
  • Coordinate partner inputs and lead the preparation of high-quality interim and final reports aligned with funder expectations and strategic objectives.
  • Support governance improvements and work with alliance partners to develop and coordinate future funding bids, highlighting programme impact, learning and legacy.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Proven programme or project management experience in a multi-partner setting.
  • Strong knowledge of governance, compliance and reporting, ideally in publicly or grant-funded programmes.
  • Skilled at coordinating complex timelines and stakeholders, maintaining clear documentation and producing strong written analysis and reports.
  • Able to hold partners diplomatically accountable for agreed deliverables.
  • Strong knowledge of or experience in higher education in Europe.
  • Ability to work across cultures, traditions and timezones.

Desirable

  • Experience in film, the creative industries, higher education or cultural networks.
  • Experience coordinating funding bids and familiarity with EU or international funding frameworks.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Milestones and deliverables completed on time.
  • High-quality, compliant reports submitted by deadlines.
  • Clear, accessible programme documentation maintained.
  • Funding bids coordinated and submitted successfully.
  • Positive feedback from partners and funders on programme oversight.
