Our eco-cities: The role of arts and creatives
Prof. Dr. Lidia Varbanova was invited by LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore on 7TH April 2022 to give a public lecture online on the topic: “Our eco-cities: The role of arts and creatives”. In this public presentation Prof. Varbanova focusеd on the key trends and challenges in the environmental management in the 21st century, related to arts and creative industries at a city level. She provided arguments why culture is a smart investment for cities and what are the strategies and tools of creative organisations to deal with environmental challenges.
The presentation emphasized on the essence and diversity of creative clusters and their role in culture-led regeneration strategies of cities. Prof. Varbanova shared plenty of examples from different corners of the world to provide a flavour of the richness in arts practices for sustainability at city-level.
