NATFIZ took part in the ENCATC Members Talk: Internationalization of Arts Management Education
The Members Talks of the European Network of Cultural Management and Policy (ENCATC) were launched in May 2020 as a new response created out of members’ strong desire to explore together and pool knowledge to overcome pressing issues impacted by COVID-19 confinement. The aim is to share practical ways to come out of this crisis stronger and more united than ever before to ensure the best education on cultural management and policy.
Prof. Dr. Lidia Varbanova, Program Director of MA in Management of Performing Arts and Industries at NATFIZ took part with an opening presentation in the Member’s talk on Internationalization of Arts Management Education, held online on 27 February 2024, in collaboration between ENCATC and AAAE. The discussion focused on important questions such as: How to create or adapt programs to have an international dimension? How to enrich our curriculum and research with international case studies and examples? What are the challenges and strategies of internationalization of education in arts management? The online discussion addressed multiple dimensions of existing international programs, including but not limited to pedagogy, curriculum, mentorship dynamics and enrollments. Prominent professors from universities and academies from Europe, North America and Asia took part in the event.
With the contributions of ENCATC and AAAE members, this session explored various facets integral to international programs, and provided insights and practical experiences to the wide community of educators who are looking to enhance or reshape their programs in a context where cultural exchange, collaboration, and understanding are increasingly important.
